Lila & Bubbles!

Hanna says:
It's been hot lately so the kids love to splash around in the kiddie pool. Yesterday, while Isaac was taking his late afternoon nap, Lila played in the water with some bubbles.

Date Night

Hanna says:
Greta was gracious enough to watch Isaac while his parents went off to Hillsborough to eat at Pancuito! (Nana we definitely need to take you there-promise)

Menu:
Mark-
1. pan seared scallops with creamy corn, shitake mushrooms, and proscuitto (I thought Mark was going to faint when he started to eat his appetizer)
2. beef ribeye with gnocchi (I normally don't like ribeye but the chef cooked this dish to perfection!)
3. Baba with pistachio cream filling in limoncello syrup (hoowee~ I could taste the alcohol on this thing)

Hanna-
1. Seared beef carpaccio with fennel and arugula (my favorite!!!)
2. Pasta chitarra with zucchini strings, shrimp and lump crab with a fried squash blossom (I thought I went to heaven, the fresh pasta is so yummy!)
3. White chocolate ice cream with chocolate ganache (super sweet but Mark's coffee balanced it out)

Overall we left with a happy and full stomach (not to mention sleepy - you can always tell the parents of young children when they start getting tired at 8pm)

Family Time & Early Anniversary Gift & More Isaac Pix!

I love it when Isaac puts his head on my shoulder but I love it more when he sticks his tongue out, like he sees something tasty mmmM~You lookin' at me?
I'll take you down with my ducky and this red cup thingy.

Hanna says:
Trish is a SAHM (stay at home mom) this week so the Schuelers had a family weekend. On Monday we all (including the Christies) went to the Duke Lemur Center. It was pretty interesting but they had a lot of construction going on (which is great! but kinda sucky for the tourist trying to enjoy their outing). I'd say wait until the construction is done (apparently they're building a HUGE facility for the winter months). Once the tour was over we all headed to Local Yogurt. It was pretty good and Lila got to draw on the chalk board painted wall. After we said our goodbyes to the Christies, Mark drove us to University Mall where we bought some goodies from Southern Season (HUGE sale) and then we mosied inside Goldworks. hmmm~

I've been wanting to get my engagement ring redone ever since I started getting a rash in the summertime, apparently caused by water that gets trapped under the band. Ironically, this kind of rash is really common for people who wash their hands a lot. So, I originally went to Creative Metalsmiths since that's where we got our wedding bands and they quoted me $1200. Goldworks quoted me $1500. But right now, Goldworks is having an awesome sale and some of their beautiful pieces are 50% OFF! OMG!!!! So there happens to be a sapphire ring (gorgeous!) but it's a marquis cut ring with smaller stones on either side (which is similar to my engagement ring but different) for $750!!!! And then there is another ring, which I like to refer to as the "Happy" ring. It's a plain gold band that's got different colored diamonds sprinkled all around the ring!!! Mark wanted to surprise me for our 5th anniversary, but when he saw the rings... I made him choose. And boy did he choose wisely. The "Happy" ring won. YAY! The sapphire ring was beautiful but I would have felt a little guilty replacing my original ring. Thank you my wonderful hubby. But seriously, no more rings. (*^_^*)

After all that excitement it was time to go celebrate Father's day with NoNo and GiGi. They made us a feast! There was pasta salad with fresh tomatoes, salmon mousse (I wish I liked salmon because this dish looked soosoooooooOoooOO~ good), beef tenderloin with cheese and garlic sauce? on some yummy bread, and lots of different cheese including this stinky cheese from France (Epoisse - is that how you spell it?). While the grown ups drank some Prosecco, I drank a blueberry soda. Then came dessert. Oh my goodness. Warm peach and blackberry cobbler with vanilla ice cream. mmmmMMmM~ I wanted to lick my bowl. On top of that the three of us came home with some booty. Mark got a book about fatherhood. I got my first Vietri! and Isaac came home with a "Guess How much I Love You" bib, sippy cup, and bunny set. Thank you NoNo and GiGi!! You guys are the best!

Unfortunately for my stupid migraine, we didn't get to do much today. We did get a chance to go out for a little while once I was somewhat normal again.

Isaac LOVES~ his nanny Greta

Hanna says:
Isaac's whole face lights up whenever he sees Greta. Boy, is he gonna miss her when she's in Costa Rica. But at least he gets two more days with her before he says goodbye. Here's some pictures and a video she took this past weekend.
